Cia-Cia Archive
Cia-Cia is a language spoken in the south of Buton Island, around the city of Baubau. Since 2009, some schools in Baubau have taught children to write it in Hangul, the Korean alphabet. This archive gathers Cia-Cia words, voices and stories, made together with Cia-Cia speakers, teachers and children, so they can be heard, read and passed on.
This archive is new. The first recordings, words and stories are being collected with teachers and students in Baubau in 2026 and 2027.
